Youth
A young barn owl fledgeling, roughly 60 days old, sits on a barn door peering out at me.
Over the summer of 2024 i spent as many evenings as possible perched behind a stone wall watching the family of barn owls grow.
As the fledgelings grow and get bolder they spend more time on the outskirts of the barn, watching the world go by and waiting for their parents to bring them food.
By standing behind the stone wall, I am able to photograph these birds without disturbance, watching them at their most relaxed and documenting one of our most beautiful birds.
