Kindred Gaze is a portrait of an intimate moment shared between the two owlet siblings from the 2024 Barn Owl season.

Between March and August i spent as many evenings as possible up at a barn in Derbyshire, only 30 minutes from where i grew up as a child.

These are my local barn owls and i've been documenting them for the past two years, collectively spending over 100 hours photographing and filming them.

Throughout this time i've been blessed to witness so many incredible moments, but this image feels special.

The light, the gaze & the feather patterns create such a wonderful photo and, to me at least, captures both the beauty and intelligence of this wonderful bird species.
